Web 2.0 describes the changing trend in the use of the World Wide Web
technology and Web design that aims to enhance creativity, communications,
secure information sharing, collaboration and functionality of the Web.
Web 2.0 concepts have led to the development of Web communities,
social networking sites (for example Facebook), video sharing sites
(YouTube, Metacafe), wikis (Wikipedia) and blogs.
A Web 2.0 Web site doesn’t have any technical specifications. It refers to
the revolution of using the Internet as a platform. That is, using a Web site
to perform a task instead of a program on an operating system.
The 2.0 refers to a rebirth after the end of the 2001 dot com bubble.
